Zuzu

Zuzu is a mother who has spent most of her life living inside a Cage and no one understands why. Zuzu is full of love. She enjoys everything. If you treat her with kindness, she reciprocates it immediately. She bonds with you immediately.

We did not know much about Zuzu’s history before she arrived at our shelter. She was found as a stray and brought to the shelter in 2016. Her owner initially claimed her, but when Zuzu turned up at the shelter again 3 months later. This time with her 11 puppies in her. the owner didn’t come back for her and never called.

Zuzu’s puppies were quickly adopted but Zuzu remained to wait in our shelter for someone to adopt her.

Zuzu is a very loving dog and people love her when she first came in, and perhaps that’s why it takes very long for a dog like her to find the perfect home.

After years in the shelter, Zuzu was desperate for a home. She’d lost all the fur on the side of her body and it showed up as dark black marks. We had sent her to a vet to see what was up with her, and they said it from stress.

Finally, in 2017, things seemed to be better for Zuzu. A woman adopted Zuzu and took her to live on his rural property in Urla.

The next 6 months were happy for Zuzu. Her fur grew back. She got to sleep inside a house. She had someone to pet her and play with her.

But to everyone’s disappointment, the women who adopted her died, and Zuzu was returned to our shelter. She cried like a baby seeing her over passing away for weeks in our shelter.

Zuzu loves to go for long walks, she loves playing in the pool, chewing on toys, and spending time with any person who takes an interest in her. She also knows basic commands.
